When we were on the look out for our bathroom supplies we knew we wanted to use a brand that had the same ethical outlook as ourselves. That meant one that used organic ingredients where possible, and one that stayed clear of animal testing.
But we also wanted products that would do wonderful things to your bathwater, and magical things in the shower. The fact that Lush offered all this was great. That they also provide the most fun, most inventive and most indulgent products was downright brilliant.
You can find out about those beliefs right here, but for now let’s concentrate on what you’ll find waiting in every Slow Chalet bathroom (and many thanks to Nicky from Lush Regent Street for her help in putting together these winning combos).
First up, we have bubble bars – solid bubble baths. Because it’s solid it doesn’t need any preservatives and because it’s solid it can look a lot more interesting than the liquid ones. Crumble one under the running bath water after a hard day’s play on the mountains and you’ll get a wonderfully bubbly, blindingly fragrant bath.
Next you’ll have to head into the kitchen, because the shower jellies are kept in the fridge. Hack off a slice, crush it up and let the seaweed gel condition your skin and soften your hair.
Then there’s some bottled showgel for the traditionalists. Except these ones are made from strawberries and honey and almond oils. But try not to eat them.
Finally, some good old-fashioned soap. Or perhaps not so old-fashioned when you see that these are made out of honey, porridge and figs (amongst other things).
(Please remember not to spend all your time in the bathroom).
